The Minister of Labour and Employment, Chris Ngige, on Wednesday disclosed that his child is also affected by the current ongoing strike action by the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU. Ngige revealed this when he spoke with state house correspondents after the Federal Executive Council meeting. He said, “I have my child at home as we speak. Government is leaving no stone unturned to make sure that we reach a conclusive agreement with ASUU so that they can go back to classroom.” The minister also said, “Students who are supposed to take their exams and promotional exams have been forced by circumstances beyond their control to stay at home”

Pesident Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday arrived his home town, Daura, for the Eid -El-Kabir celebrations. Governor Aminu Masari led top government officials including the Secretary to the state government, Dr.Mustapha Inuwa, to receive President Buhari at the Umar Musa Yar’adua International Airport on his way to Daura. The Emir of Katsina, Dr.Kabir Abdulmumin, was also at the Airport to welcome the President. The Presidential jet that brought Buhari to katsina touched down at the tarmac of the Airport at 4:06pm. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) says the commission recovered N409bni, $69.5m and E23m between January to date. Mr. Olukoya Ogungbeje, the lawyer to the suspected billionaire kidnapper, Chukwudumeme Onwuamadike, has said the police coerced his client to plead guilty to the kidnapping charges before a Lagos State High Court in Ikeja on Wednesday. According to Punch Metro, Ogungbeje while describing the plea as police-motivated, said the police threatened to kill Onwuamadike, who is widely known as Evans, if he failed to plead guilty. Ogungbeje, in a statement on the letter head of his law firm, Lawflex Chambers, which was e-mailed to our correspondent after the Wednesday’s proceedings, said his client would change his plea to “not guilty” at the next court sitting. The hunt for an alleged thief who invaded an Access Bank branch in the financial hub of Nigeria is currently gaining momentum with his picture going viral. A Twitter user identified as Adebanjo Adebayo has raised an alarm concerning this man pictured above who he claims made away with some cash at a bank in Lagos. When contacted, Mr. Adebayo revealed that the alleged thief stole N1.2 million from Access bank located in Ejigbo area of Lagos last month. He also revealed that the theft cost his brother his job as he was sacked by the bank recently for the missing money. The alleged thief was tracked after a CCTV footage from the bank was reviewed. Adebayo urged members of the public to be vigilant as relating to the alleged thief and pled with anyone with useful information that would lead to the arrest of the suspect to contact the appropriate authorities.
