A lecturer at the School of Communication of the Lagos State University (LASU), Mr Olasunkanmi Arowolo, has introduced Edmodo – a mobile classroom that will constantly keep students abreast of academic activities. The virtual classroom is a mobile application created by Edmodo Inc for Android users. The mobile app will serve as an extension of physical classroom to help create friendly environment for students with low self-esteem. The mobile application allows the lecturer to assign and grade assignments while students can submit their assignment before the due date and time. The Senate has rubbished and struck out a bill seeking to amend the National Youth Service Corps Act to allow the uniform worn by corps members to accommodate their religious belief. If it had been passed, participants would have been allowed to wear skirt or hijab, among others. This followed the presentation of the lead debate on the general principles of the bill which was sponsored by Sen. Emmanuel Bwacha (PDP-Taraba) during plenary. According to him, the bill is intended to amend Sections 13 and 16 of the Principal Act. He said the bill sought to ensure that regulations made by the NYSC Directorate prescribing uniforms and exercise regimen did not violate the religious practices and beliefs of corps members. He said the objective of the bill was to also increase the penalty for the offenses contained in the Act, to make such fines reflect the present value of the naira. According to reports, a boyfriend and girlfriend were found dead yesterday morning in the apartment of a friend where they went to sleep in Mosogar, Sapele area of Delta state. According to Sapele Oghenek, the pair identified as Matthew and Bose were said to have gone out to buy Suya on Thursday night before the boyfriend took Bose to his friend’s house whey they went to sleep. The owner of the house and his girlfriend was said to have slept in the room while Matthew and his girlfriend Bose slept in the parlor. Barcelona-based show promoter has cried out that his life is currently under threat because his show which was supposed to feature Olamide flopped. ”Science Student” crooner Olamide, who refused showing up for a show he was scheduled to perform in Barcelona, Spain, has allegedly put the life of the show promoter in danger. The promoter, Oluwatosin Oketumo based in Barcelona, popularly known as T-Cash, says he is currently living in fear since the show which was supposed to feature Olamide didn’t work out.
