Drama as witness slumps, vomits blood and dies just before giving evidence in a Lagos court
There was drama at an Ikeja High Court today after a witness who was scheduled to testify in a Land dispute case, suddenly slumped, started vomiting and then died within the court premises.
According to reports, the witness said to be in his 30s, was inside the court room waiting for the case involving him to be called up when he started to cough severely and gasping for air.
He walked out of the court premises to catch his breath but instead of it subsiding, the cough continued. He collapsed on the floor of the corridor of the court and started to vomit blood.
A team of medical doctors later came in with an ambulance to remove his body. His lawyer later told the presiding judge, Justice O.A Olayinka that the witness had been certified dead.
Justice Olayinka immediately stopped all proceedings earlier scheduled for the day.
