Aged woman shows off her beautiful smile after huge goitre was removed from her neck (photos)

A grandma has just been eased of a pain she had been carrying for over 30 years.

Adiza was said to have been carrying around a suffocating goiter for over 30 years. The goiter had over the years grown gradually till it got to 5 pound before it was removed.

Luck smiled on her when a non governmental organisation Mercy Ships came to her rescue.

She now has a second shot at life, with the hope of spending more time with her children, grandchildren, friends and family.

In one of the post about her on Instagram, it was captioned thus:

At almost five pounds, the goiter had wrapped itself around Adiza’s trachea, causing her to slowly suffocate. She had to choose her words carefully, timing their release between labored breaths. Even a few steps exhausted her weary body. After a 40-year battle, free surgery was finally scheduled…and it couldn’t come soon enough.
